NCT ID NCT03459157
First seen Apr 16, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looked at whether giving HIV prevention pills (PrEP) to men who have sex with men in West Africa is acceptable and practical. About 650 HIV-negative men from Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Mali, and Togo took part. They could choose daily or on-demand pills, plus other prevention tools like condoms and counseling. The goal was to see how many used PrEP, stuck with it, and stayed HIV-free over time.
