First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tested giving a precise, high-dose radiation treatment before surgery to remove brain metastases in 70 adults with cancer. The goal was to see if this approach could better control tumor regrowth at 6 months and reduce long-term side effects like radiation necrosis. Participants had up to 4 brain tumors from lung, breast, or digestive cancers and were healthy enough for both surgery and radiation.
