New Artery-Blocking trick may make inoperable bile duct cancer removable
NCT ID NCT07326189
First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tests a new approach for people with a hard-to-treat bile duct cancer that has grown into a major liver artery. Normally, this cancer is considered inoperable because removing the artery would cut off blood flow. The idea is to block that artery before surgery, which forces the liver to grow new blood vessels from other sources. Then, surgeons can remove the cancer and the blocked artery safely. The study will enroll 33 adults across multiple hospitals in China and track how many are alive one year after surgery.
