Can a video game replace genetic counseling for pregnant couples?

NCT ID NCT05360095

Summary

This study tested whether an educational video game could teach pregnant people about prenatal genetic screening as well as a one-on-one session with a genetic counselor. Over 2,000 participants, including partners, were randomly assigned to use the game, read an interactive brochure, or have a counseling session. Researchers measured how much people learned and how confident they felt in their decisions to help make this important education more accessible, especially in areas with few counselors.
