Paramedics to test handheld ultrasound for faster heart failure diagnosis
NCT ID NCT07549334
First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether paramedics can use a lung ultrasound to more accurately diagnose heart failure in people having trouble breathing. About 1,000 adults with breathing problems will get a lung ultrasound during ambulance care. Researchers will compare the paramedic's diagnosis with the hospital's final diagnosis to see if the ultrasound helps. The goal is to improve emergency care and patient outcomes.
