Can a few extra steps before surgery speed recovery for those who need it most?

NCT ID NCT06181253

Summary

This study tested whether a simple, low-cost exercise program before surgery could help patients from lower-income backgrounds recover better. Researchers compared patients who tracked their daily steps and walking before their operation to those who received usual care. The goal was to see if this easy program could help patients get home from the hospital faster, move better after surgery, and reduce their chances of being readmitted.
