First seen Apr 02, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study tested whether a low-cost walking and step-tracking program before surgery could help patients from lower-income backgrounds recover more quickly. Researchers planned to enroll 60 adults from Boston Medical Center, but the study was stopped early with only 3 participants. The goal was to see if simple pre-surgery exercise could shorten hospital stays and reduce readmissions.
