Summary

This large international study is testing whether treating a common hidden urine infection in pregnant women can prevent serious birth complications. It will enroll over 1,100 pregnant women in developing countries who have the infection but no symptoms. Women will be randomly assigned to receive either antibiotics or standard care to see if treatment reduces premature births, small babies, or stillbirths.
