Blood test may predict dangerous pregnancy complication

NCT ID NCT04319341

Summary

This study looked at whether measuring a specific protein (ADAMTS13) in the blood of pregnant women with Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS) could help predict their risk of developing preeclampsia, a serious pregnancy complication. Researchers analyzed stored blood samples from 513 women taken early in their pregnancy. The goal was to gather knowledge to potentially improve future risk assessment, not to test a new treatment.
