New risk score could prevent deadly clots in pregnant women

NCT ID NCT03659708

First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026

Summary

This study aims to see if using a special risk score (the Lyon-VTE-score) helps doctors better prevent dangerous blood clots in pregnant women who are at high risk. About 600 pregnant women with a personal history of blood clots or a clotting disorder will be randomly assigned to either care guided by this score or standard care. The goal is to find out which approach is safer, more effective, and more cost-efficient.
