Scientists track antibiotics in pregnant women to ensure safety

Summary
This study aims to understand how two common antibiotics, ceftriaxone and benzathine penicillin G, move through the bodies of pregnant women and to check for any safety issues. Researchers will enroll about 78 pregnant women in the U.S. who are already receiving one of these antibiotics from their regular doctor for medical reasons. The study will measure drug levels at different pregnancy stages and monitor mothers and babies for potential side effects.
