Early preeclampsia screening could save lives of mothers and babies

NCT ID NCT05521776

First seen Mar 31, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests whether screening pregnant women early (at 11-14 weeks) for preeclampsia risk can prevent severe health problems for mothers and babies. About 14,500 pregnant women aged 18 and older will be randomly assigned to receive either the early screening or standard care. The goal is to see if early detection and treatment can reduce serious complications like premature birth or low birth weight.
