Scientists probe hidden heart threat in new moms
NCT ID NCT06749418
Summary
This study aims to understand why women who had preeclampsia during pregnancy face higher lifelong heart disease risk, even after recovery. Researchers will examine how small blood vessels in the skin respond to salt and a test medication in 40 women who are 12 weeks to 5 years postpartum. The goal is to uncover the biological mechanisms behind this increased risk, which could inform future prevention strategies.
