Could a common steroid ease heart failure inflammation?

NCT ID NCT05916586

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a 7-day course of prednisone, a steroid, can lower inflammation in people with acute heart failure. 101 adults from the emergency department took part. The main goal was to see if prednisone plus usual care reduced C-reactive protein (a marker of inflammation) more than usual care alone. The study is complete, but results are not yet available.
