Summary

This study tests a nurse-led, step-by-step plan to safely reduce and stop the steroid prednisolone in people with polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR). The goal is to see if this structured approach helps more patients achieve remission without steroids compared to usual care by their general practitioner. About 120 newly diagnosed adults over 50 will take part for one year, with a one-year follow-up.
