Can a simple score help doctors complete Small-Bowel scopes?
NCT ID NCT07288346
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether using a predictive model before a double-balloon enteroscopy helps doctors fully examine the small intestine. About 338 adults with suspected small-bowel disease will be randomly assigned to have their doctor see the model score or not. The main goal is to see if the model increases the rate of complete small-bowel visualization.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
predictive model
What this could lead to
If it works, this could help doctors plan small-bowel exams more effectively, potentially reducing procedure time and improving success rates.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study focused on a procedural tool, not a treatment. The model may not improve outcomes or may not be widely applicable.
