Simple eye scan could warn new moms of debilitating spinal headaches

NCT ID NCT07360756

Summary

This study aims to see if a quick, non-invasive ultrasound scan of the eye can predict which women will develop severe headaches after spinal anesthesia during planned cesarean sections. Researchers will measure changes in the optic nerve sheath right before and after the spinal injection in 150 women. The goal is to identify a clear warning sign so doctors can provide early treatment for this painful complication.
