New test could prevent failed sleep apnea implants

NCT ID NCT05429983

Summary

This study aims to improve the selection process for an implanted device that treats sleep apnea. Researchers will test if a simple measurement of airflow, taken during a standard pre-surgery procedure, can predict whether the device will successfully treat a patient's sleep apnea. The goal is to help doctors identify which patients are most likely to benefit before they undergo surgery to implant the device.
