Blood test could spot deadly infection in hours, saving lives
NCT ID NCT07024355
Summary
This study aims to test a simple scoring system that uses routine blood tests to predict a life-threatening abdominal infection in people with advanced liver disease and fluid buildup. The goal is to help doctors start the right antibiotics much faster without waiting for a more invasive fluid-drawing procedure. Researchers will enroll 250 adult patients with liver cirrhosis to see how accurately the 'Mansoura Score' can identify these infections.
