Brain scan during surgery could warn of Post-Op confusion

NCT ID NCT05992506

Summary

This study aims to test a new tool that uses brain wave (EEG) patterns recorded during surgery to predict which older patients will develop post-surgery delirium, a serious state of confusion. Researchers will observe 264 patients aged 60+ undergoing major elective surgery. The goal is to validate this brain wave analysis as a reliable early warning sign, which could help doctors prevent or better manage this common complication.
