Scientists hunt Baby's nose for clues to prevent lifelong breathing problems

NCT ID NCT07411261

Summary

This study aims to understand how the tiny organisms living in premature babies' noses might predict future breathing problems. Researchers will follow 270 babies born very early (under 32 weeks) for three years, collecting nasal swabs and other samples. They hope to find patterns that could help doctors identify which babies are most at risk for conditions like asthma and bronchopulmonary dysplasia.
