New monitor aims to catch dangerous blood pressure drops in laboring moms faster

NCT ID NCT05906368

Summary

This small pilot study tested whether a new finger-cuff blood pressure monitor could help nurses spot and treat low blood pressure faster in healthy women getting an epidural during labor. Researchers compared how quickly low blood pressure was treated between women monitored with the new device and those monitored with standard equipment. The main goal was to see if the new system was easy for hospital staff to use and if it helped them respond to problems more quickly.
