Simple body measurements may predict dangerous blood pressure drop in C-Sections

NCT ID NCT07499947

First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study is observing 321 pregnant women having planned C-sections to see if waist size, body mass index (BMI), and a heart rate-to-blood pressure ratio can predict a sudden drop in blood pressure after spinal anesthesia. The goal is to find better ways to identify women at risk, so doctors can take steps to prevent complications. Participants are healthy (ASA II) with a single baby at full term, and those with high blood pressure or other serious conditions are excluded.
