Windpipe size may predict oxygen drops during lung procedure

NCT ID NCT07587736

First seen May 17, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at whether measuring the windpipe with ultrasound before a lung biopsy can help predict if a patient will have low oxygen levels during the procedure. Researchers will measure the windpipe's width and compare it to the scope's size to see if a narrower windpipe raises the risk. The goal is to find a simple way to identify patients who may need extra oxygen support.
