Searching for the hidden heart risk in kids who beat cancer

NCT ID NCT07253077

Summary

This study aims to find early warning signs in the blood that could predict future heart damage in children and teens who were successfully treated for cancer with a type of drug called anthracyclines. Researchers will compare blood tests and heart scans from 40 young cancer survivors with those from healthy children to see if specific markers appear before heart problems develop. The goal is to learn how to spot heart risks earlier, allowing for better monitoring and care for survivors.
