Simple blood test could predict dangerous Post-Surgery confusion

NCT ID NCT07297017

Summary

This study is testing whether a simple blood score can predict which elderly patients will develop confusion (delirium) after hip fracture surgery. Researchers will measure inflammation and nutrition markers in 168 patients aged 60+ before surgery, then track who develops confusion afterward. The goal is to create a tool that identifies high-risk patients so doctors can provide extra care to prevent this serious complication.
