First seen Apr 26, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looked at whether information from a national health insurance card—such as past antibiotic use and hospital visits—can help predict if a person's urinary tract infection will be resistant to standard antibiotics. Over 1,100 adults with community-acquired urinary tract infections took part. The goal was to see if this simple data could guide doctors in choosing the most effective antibiotic from the start.
