Neck scan may predict anesthesia danger

NCT ID NCT07565025

First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether measuring the size of a neck vein with ultrasound can help predict dangerous drops in blood pressure when patients go under general anesthesia for gallbladder surgery. Researchers will check the vein before surgery and compare it to blood pressure changes right after anesthesia starts. The goal is to find a simple, non-invasive way to identify patients at higher risk, so doctors can take steps to keep them safe.
