New pain plan could cut opioid use in kids after spine surgery

Summary
This study tests a new pain management approach for children aged 10 to 18 having spine surgery for scoliosis. The goal is to see if a standardized plan using methadone and other medicines can better control pain and reduce the need for opioids. About 500 children will take part across multiple hospitals.
