Radiation before liver surgery: a new hope to stop cancer from coming back?

NCT ID NCT04587739

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study is for people with a single liver tumor (hepatocellular carcinoma) who are scheduled for surgery. The goal is to see if giving a short course of high-precision radiation before the operation is safe and does not cause delays or serious side effects that would prevent surgery. About 30 participants will be enrolled, and the study will check if this approach can be used in future larger trials to reduce the risk of cancer returning after surgery.
