Can a simple Pre-Op chat cut your pain pills and boost comfort?
NCT ID NCT03754699
Summary
This study tested whether giving patients clear education about pain and painkillers before outpatient orthopedic surgery would help them manage their pain better at home. Over 400 adults having procedures like knee or shoulder surgery were involved. Researchers compared the standard care to a special educational session to see if it led to better pain relief and fewer medication side effects in the first week after surgery.
