Could a simple Pre-Surgery 'Workout' speed up recovery after ostomy reversal?

NCT ID NCT06461559

Summary

This study is testing a new pre-surgery training method for people who need their ileostomy (a surgical opening in the abdomen) reversed. Researchers want to see if putting a small amount of the patient's own ostomy bag contents back into their intestine for several weeks before the reversal surgery helps the bowel 'remember' how to work. The goal is to help patients recover normal bowel function more quickly after their operation.
