MRI may predict tumor margins in HPV+ tonsil cancer surgery

NCT ID NCT07060261

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a special MRI scan taken before robotic surgery for HPV-positive tonsil cancer can predict if the cancer will be completely removed. About 30 adults will get an MRI, and doctors will compare the scan results to the actual surgical outcomes. The goal is to see if the MRI can help guide treatment decisions and reduce the need for extra therapies.
