NCT ID NCT05520593

First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at whether drinking a carbohydrate-rich beverage before joint replacement surgery can shorten hospital stays and reduce the chance of needing to stay overnight. Researchers will track how long participants stay in the hospital, how many physical therapy sessions they need, and how far they can walk. The goal is to make same-day discharge more successful for people having hip or knee replacement.
