Summary
This study tested two self-help programs for people with chronic non-cancer pain who are waiting for specialized treatment. The programs used education and cognitive-behavioral techniques to help patients better manage their pain and avoid worsening symptoms. 163 adults participated, and the study measured changes in pain-related thinking, pain intensity, and daily life interference over 12 months.
