NCT ID NCT07328633
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at whether a 4-week pre-surgery program of exercise, nutrition advice, and mental support, combined with a standard enhanced recovery plan, can reduce complications after stomach cancer surgery. About 136 patients aged 18-75 who had chemotherapy before surgery will be randomly assigned to get the extra pre-surgery program or just the standard recovery plan. The main goal is to see if fewer people have serious problems within 30 days after their operation.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Pre-habilitation program (exercise, nutrition, psychological support) and Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocol
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could show that preparing patients before surgery with exercise and nutrition reduces complications and speeds recovery after gastric cancer surgery.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, single-center study with 136 participants, so results may not apply to all patients. The behavioral intervention may be hard to standardize or replicate.
