New procedure aims to stop deadly bleeds before they start
NCT ID NCT07168395
Summary
This study is testing whether a minimally invasive procedure can prevent dangerous stomach vein bleeding in people with liver cirrhosis. Researchers will compare the procedure, which blocks off the swollen veins, against the current standard of medication alone. The goal is to see if acting early can reduce bleeding episodes and improve survival for these high-risk patients.
