Could dropping aspirin after stents reduce bleeding without raising risks?
NCT ID NCT06916520
First seen Mar 26, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study tests whether a lower dose of the blood thinner prasugrel, taken without aspirin, is safe and effective for people who have had a heart stent placed. About 300 adults with acute or chronic coronary artery disease will receive 5 mg of prasugrel daily for 6 to 12 months. The goal is to see if this simpler, single-drug approach lowers the chance of serious bleeding while still preventing heart attacks, strokes, and other major events.
