NCT ID NCT05899842
First seen Feb 15, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study looks at whether taking acid-reducing pills (PPIs) every day for a year after a throat surgery called POEM helps prevent acid reflux better than only taking them when heartburn happens. About 132 adults with achalasia will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. The goal is to find the best way to manage reflux after this common procedure.
