New drug shows promise for controlling chronic hives
NCT ID NCT05936567
Summary
This study tested whether a new oral medication called povorcitinib could help adults with chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU), a condition causing persistent hives and itching that doesn't respond well to standard antihistamines. Researchers compared different doses of the drug against a placebo in 136 participants over 12 weeks to see if it reduced hive and itch severity. The main goal was to see if the drug was effective and safe for controlling this difficult-to-manage skin condition.
