Iodine swab tested to stop Kids' cavities
NCT ID NCT05272254
Summary
This study is testing if applying a topical iodine solution to children's teeth can help prevent new cavities. It involves about 200 young children (ages 2-5) who have severe tooth decay and are getting dental surgery. The children will receive either the iodine solution or a placebo, along with standard fluoride varnish, and be followed for two years to see which group gets fewer new cavities.
