Could a simple tape boost stroke recovery?
NCT ID NCT07334665
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looks at whether adding posture-oriented kinesio taping to standard rehab helps stroke patients improve their balance, coordination, and daily activities. Sixty adults who had a stroke at least one month ago will be randomly assigned to get either the tape plus rehab or rehab alone. Researchers will measure trunk control and balance before and after treatment to see if the tape makes a difference.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
kinesio tape
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, low-cost addition to stroke rehab to help patients move better and reduce fall risk.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 60 participants. The tape may not provide significant benefits over standard rehab alone.
