WhatsApp alerts may boost diabetes detection after pregnancy
NCT ID NCT07489456
First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looks at two ways to improve screening for diabetes after pregnancy in women who had gestational diabetes. First, it tests whether sending reminders through WhatsApp helps more women come in for a glucose test. Second, it compares a newer way of reading the test results (using 1-hour blood sugar) to the standard way (using 2-hour blood sugar) to see which catches more cases of prediabetes or diabetes. About 182 women will take part.
