New hope for NICU moms: study tests best talk therapy for postpartum depression
NCT ID NCT06991166
Summary
This study aims to find the most effective talk therapy for mothers experiencing postpartum depression (PPD) while their newborn is in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). It will compare two established therapies—Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)—and test whether using them one after the other works better than either alone. The goal is to help reduce depression symptoms and improve well-being for these high-risk mothers.
