New program aims to shield new moms from depression after disasters
NCT ID NCT07329270
Summary
This study created and tested a mental health program designed to prevent postpartum depression in women living in earthquake-affected areas of Türkiye. Researchers first interviewed 24 new mothers to understand their experiences and needs, then used those insights to develop a support program. They tested the program with 106 women, comparing it to standard care to see if it reduced depression symptoms in the six months after childbirth.
