Talking it out: new study tests Post-Birth debriefing to prevent trauma

NCT ID NCT07579273

First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether a guided conversation within 24 hours after a difficult or unexpected childbirth can lower the risk of post-traumatic stress and improve how women feel about their birth experience. About 142 new mothers will be randomly assigned to either receive this structured debriefing or standard care. The goal is to see if early support can make a real difference in psychological recovery.
