AI predicts diabetes danger in transplant patients
NCT ID NCT07512804
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study aims to better predict which kidney transplant patients who develop diabetes will later suffer serious complications like heart disease or kidney failure. Researchers will use machine learning and genetic analysis to find new markers in blood, urine, and kidney tissue. The goal is to build a risk model that helps doctors tailor treatments to each patient. 120 adults with post-transplant diabetes will be enrolled.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a predictive tool that helps doctors identify kidney transplant patients at highest risk for diabetes-related complications, enabling personalized treatment.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a treatment trial. The predictive model needs validation in future studies and may not improve outcomes directly.
