NYU tests custom drug combo to shield surgery patients from heart trouble
NCT ID NCT06961630
Summary
This pilot study is testing whether personalized medication plans can reduce heart complications in patients who show signs of heart injury after major non-cardiac surgery. Researchers will give 50 participants either a combination of two common heart medications or usual care, then track how well patients stick to their medication plan. The goal is to gather information to design a larger future trial that could help prevent serious heart problems after surgery.
