Could 5 days of antibiotics slash post-surgery infections in pancreatic patients?

NCT ID NCT06123169

First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study compares two antibiotic approaches after pancreatic surgery in patients who had a bile duct stent placed before surgery. The goal is to see if a 5-day course of broad-spectrum antibiotics works better than a single preventive dose at reducing serious infections inside the abdomen. About 326 adults will take part, and the results could help standardize care to lower complications.
