Snap to heal: app uses photos to spot infections early

NCT ID NCT07391735

First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study explores whether a smartphone app can help doctors monitor surgical wounds remotely. About 150 adults having surgery will choose to use the app or not. App users take photos of their wound and answer questions daily or weekly. An AI program and a healthcare provider review the images to check for infection risk. The goal is to see if the app improves monitoring and patient satisfaction without causing harm.
